Now, at just 10 months old, my son Varnith is battling a rare genetic disorder that could take his life at any moment. Without a timely stem cell transplant costing INR 20,00,000.00, he has no chance of survival.

How it all started…
Months after Varnith’s birth, our lives seemed to be settling back to normal. My husband, Srinath, began working overtime, and my 4-year-old daughter started attending school.
I stayed home to care for my baby and manage the house.
Everything felt fine until, three months after his birth, Varnith developed a high fever. Small rash-like bumps appeared on his skin, which soon worsened into bleeding sores and peeling skin.
To my horror, I rushed him to the hospital immediately. I called my husband, who left work and came straight to the hospital, while I left my daughter with my mother-in-law.
Those few hours were the worst of my life. I watched helplessly as doctors and nurses hurried around while my baby cried in pain. I knew this was just the beginning of a nightmare, and I prayed desperately for his well being.
Finally, the doctors came with the grim news. “Your son has Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that weakens his immune system, leaving him unable to fight infections.
It also stops his bone marrow from making enough platelets, causing severe bleeding. He will need urgent treatment, possibly a stem cell transplant.”

In the last seven months, our lives have gone from bad to worse – a true nightmare we never imagined.
Varnith has been undergoing continuous treatment, but now the doctors have said he urgently needs a hematopoietic stem cell transplant to survive.
The transplant and supportive care will cost approximately INR 20,00,000.00. My husband, Srinath, has been identified as the donor, but the expenses are beyond anything we can afford.
Our family depends entirely on Srinath’s income, but he recently lost his job as he wasn’t able to go to work because of the endless hospital runs.
